Light After Time is built to receive stories with care. Every submission is read by a human, reviewed slowly, and considered for its truth and its craft. Nothing is published automatically. The guidelines below explain how the process works, how your privacy is protected, and what you agree to when you send something in.
How it works
When you submit a story, it enters a private review queue. A reviewer reads each submission by hand. If your story is accepted, you will receive word from the house and the piece will be published on the site under the name option you selected. If it is not accepted, you will not be notified, and your submission will remain private.
Nothing is published automatically. There is no public posting at the moment of submission. There is no algorithmic gate. Only a human reading.
Your privacy at submission
You may choose how your name appears with your published story:
- Full Name
- First Name Only
- Initials
- Anonymous
Your email address is collected only so we can reach you if your story is accepted. It is never published, never sold, and never used for marketing.
Content standards
Submissions may be rejected if they contain:
- Defamation
- Harassment
- Threats
- Hate speech
- Copyright infringement
- Personal information about another person without their consent
- Spam or promotional content
Light After Time reserves the right to edit, reject, remove, or decline publication of any submission at its sole discretion.
What you affirm by submitting
By submitting a story, you affirm that:
- The submission is your original content.
- You own or have permission to submit all text, images, audio, and media included in the submission.
- The content does not violate the rights of another person.
- The submission may be reviewed, edited, rejected, unpublished, or removed at the discretion of Light After Time.
Removal after publication
You may request removal of your published story at any time. Send a written request, including the title under which the story appears and the name or initials used at submission, through the contact page.
